What do you do?

I am a for-hire “Dungeon Master” for Dungeons and Dragons (5th edition). I offer several “one-shot” game sessions that can be played with 4-6 people in 4-6 hours. I provide all necessary materials, and will come to your place of business to play.

As the Dungeon Master, I know the rules of play, act as a narrator, provide a story and a world for the players to interact with and explore, and perform other tasks that are required by the adventure.

I am based out of Richmond, Virginia and while my primary target clientele are businesses, I am open to considering private residences.

I want to schedule a session, what do I do?

1) Rally 3-5 of your most adventurous friends; 2) Choose an adventure; 3) Select your characters; 4) Click the button below and fill out the form to get in contact with me!

Why Dungeons and Dragons?

Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) provides a unique opportunity for individual expression, unique collective experience, and out-of-the-box thinking.

DnD allows you to travel with your group into a fantasy world; wherein we all actively contribute to the telling of the story, creating a unique experience each and every time.

If you’ve got a free 2 minutes and 17 seconds, the following video describes some of the aspects of the game, why a session of DnD is more memorable than other games, and a discussion on “shared memories”.

In 50 words or less, what is Dungeons and Dragons?

Dungeons and Dragons is a fantasy-themed, tabletop game that takes place in the “collective imagination”. Players become characters in a shared story told by the dungeon master, and together they make choices to create a unique experience each and every time. ( 45 words, including these ones)

Isn’t there a steep learning curve?

I have taken special care to ensure that you learn how to play quickly and simply, so that you can focus on immersing yourself in the game instead of worrying about how to play it.

I have created characters for use, and provide education prior to the session (both to the group and to the individual) on how to play your selected character. I am happy to answer any questions along the way, and I think you’ll be surprised at how quickly you pick up how to play.

I’m worried I won’t be “into it,” you know?

Players come to my table at all different levels of initial engagement. Some are actors who completely embody their role, some are very quiet, observant, and/or reactive. I want you to play at your comfort level, because that is how you will enjoy it the most.

At the end of the day, you’ll be surrounded by friends playing a game that helps to exercise creativity, imagination, and problem solving. Just relax, play however feels comfortable, and enjoy your trip to the imaginary world!
